What's included

1 section only. Choose one of: Maths, Reasoning, Biology, Chemistry or Physics
Will score like CISIA: +1, −0.25, 0
Will give a plain-English solution for every question
Timed drills will run on the section's own timer
Reading is not sold on its own: CISIA says it needs no special study

More information

For one weak section that your university counts. Maths and Reasoning are the two biggest sections. Need two or more sections? All-Section Prep covers all six. Is your test in window 1 (November 2026 to January 2027)? Practice is for you too, as soon as it opens.

Numbers, algebra, geometry, functions, logarithms, probability and statistics. Trigonometry is not in the Maths syllabus. In 2026 no calculator was allowed.

Logic, reading data from tables and charts, and word problems. In 2026, economics at Tor Vergata, Trento (non-EU) and Ca' Foscari counted this section with Maths.

Molecules, cells, genetics, plants and ecology, and the body systems of mammals. 20 minutes for 10 questions is two minutes per question.

From atoms to organic chemistry. CISIA's syllabus lists ten topic groups here, more than for any other section. Ten questions cannot cover every topic. So learn the basics of each topic. Do not go deep in any one. Practise answering in two minutes.

Units and vectors, motion, forces and energy, fluids and heat, electricity, magnetism and waves. Trigonometry is not in Maths, but Physics uses it for vectors. So learn sin, cos and tan in a right triangle. You have 10 minutes for 5 questions. So practise choosing the right formula fast.

Each drill will run on the section's own timer. It will score +1, −0.25 and 0, like CISIA. Every question will have a plain-English solution. CISIA may make you stay in each section for a minimum time before you can move on. If its 2027 rules do, our drills will too.

Sample questions

Two sample questions to try

Maths (no calculator in 2026)

Harder: several steps

A bag has 3 red balls and 2 blue balls. You take out 2 balls, one after the other, and do not put the first one back. What is the probability that both are red?

  1. 3/10
  2. 9/25
  3. 2/5
  4. 3/5
  5. 1/2
Show answerHide answer

Answer: A

First ball red: 3 out of 5. Then 2 red balls are left out of 4: 2 out of 4. Multiply: 3/5 × 2/4 = 6/20 = 3/10. B (9/25) is the trap: it puts the first ball back.

Physics (no calculator in 2026)

Harder: several steps

A car of 1,000 kg starts from rest. After 10 seconds it moves at 20 m/s. Ignore friction. What is the engine's average power?

  1. 2 kW
  2. 20 kW
  3. 40 kW
  4. 200 kW
  5. 400 kW
Show answerHide answer

Answer: B

Find the energy first: ½ × m × v² = ½ × 1,000 × 20² = 200,000 J. Power is energy per second: 200,000 ÷ 10 = 20,000 W, which is 20 kW. C (40 kW) forgets the ½. D (200 kW) forgets to divide by the time.

We wrote these for this page, in the style of the test. They are not CISIA questions. "Harder" means harder than our warm-up, not a promise about the real test.

Choosing

Which section should I choose?

Start from your university's call. Pick the counted section where you lose the most points. If your programme counts two or more sections, All-Section Prep covers all of them. In the 2026 calls:

  • Economics at Tor Vergata, Trento (non-EU) and Ca' Foscari: Maths and Reasoning.
  • Polimi engineering: Maths, Reasoning and Physics.
  • Sapienza Sustainable Building Engineering and Bologna Pharmacy: every section.
Which CEnT-S sections counted in each university's 2026 call. Economics at Tor Vergata, Trento (non-EU) and Ca' Foscari: Maths and Reasoning. Teramo Business, open access: its OFA rule used Maths and Reasoning, and said nothing about the science sections. An OFA is an extra course or test if you score low. Polimi Engineering: Maths, Reasoning and Physics. Sapienza Sustainable Building Engineering, Sapienza Bioinformatics and Bologna Pharmacy in Rimini: all five sections. Reading is new. Calls for 2027/28 entry are not out yet.
Scoring

Know when to guess

A wrong answer costs 0.25. A blank costs nothing. Our drills will train that choice on every question. In 2026 each question had 5 options. So:

  • Know one option is wrong? Then guess.
  • No idea at all? A blank is just as good.
  • A wrong guess lowers that section's score only.
Guess or leave it blank? Average points per guess. A blank scores 0. A blind guess with 5 options averages 0. With 4 options left: plus 0.06. With 3 left: plus 0.17. With 2 left: plus 0.38. A right answer gets plus 1, a wrong one minus 0.25, a blank 0. Our arithmetic uses 2026's 5 options per question. If you know one option is wrong, guess. One guess can still cost 0.25.
Your timeline

From today to test day

Read your programme's call

The call (bando in Italian) is your university's admission notice. It says which sections count.

Book your window

There are five test windows (CISIA calls them macro-periods). In 2025, booking for the first window opened on 4 November.

Drill your section

When practice opens: your section, on its own timer, with real scoring.

Sit the test

You can sit once per window. Your raw score shows at once.
